Since 1987 inception, Dare to Dream has influenced the lives of over 20,000 young people tragically separated from families that are housed in group homes, shelters, detention facilities and orphanages.
 Teams of volunteers who have been recruited, screened, and trained, visit detention facilities, group homes, youth shelters and orphanages to share the love of Christ as well as their talents and personal stories of overcoming adversity. These volunteers play a vital role in the rehabilitation process.
Dare to Dream volunteers and speakers have consistently conducted character building seminars, career development training, one-on-one mentoring, cultural and recreational activities, and holiday parties. They have ministered to these youth and nourished them in their spiritual growth and self-confidence. All services are provided free of charge.
 In 1997, Dare to Dream won the Longevity Award and the Volunteer of the Year Award year (for over ten years of continuous service) with Dallas County Juvenile Department
In May of 2003 Dare to Dream partnered with Hillcrest Church and recruited a team to participate on a Mission trip to the orphanages, hospitals, nursing homes, and Christ for the Nations Bible School in Timisoara, Romania. A sound system for the orphan youth camp and other activities was donated to Christ Commission for Romania.
In June of 2003 Dare to Dream won the Faithfulness Award and one of our volunteers won the Volunteer of the Year Award and the Chaplancy Award presented by the Texas Youth Commission Cottrell House
Dare to Dream organization has recruited, trained, and equipped over 300 volunteers to work locally and throughout the world with young people who need our guidance and direction to become solid contributors to society.
Founder, Jan Tennyson is a missionary committed to introducing the Gospel message of Jesus Christ to brokenhearted youth and audiences around the world.
